Crisis in Syria Has No Military Solution, Says Abdollahian

Tehran –crisis in Syria has no military solution and the Syrian people themselves should decide their future, Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Sunday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting delegation of Lebanese political and religious figures.

Certain parties, in pursuit of their unconstructive approach, tend to equip terrorist groups and provoke unrest and violate the ceasefire in Syria, Amir Abdollahian said.

The Syrian Arab Army, supported by the people and the resistance pivot, is now victorious over terrorists and it has managed to foil the Zionist regime conspiracies, he said.

Referring to the Saudi invasion of Yemen, the Iranian deputy foreign minister said that the United Nations is now forced to disclose some of the crimes committed by the Saudi militia against Yemeni children.

Amir Abdollahian said that security of the countries in the region is a collective issue.

He described the Zionist regime as the main cause for the insecurity in the West Asia and urged the Palestinian issue to remain as the top priority of the Islamic World.

The Islamic Republic, Amir Abdollahian said, maintains that the only way to settle the current crises in the region is a political settlement based on dialogue and rationalism an away from bias.

Shamkhani stresses Iran’s powerful support for regional nations against terrorism

On the other hand, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani reiterated Iran’s strong support for regional nations in their struggle against terrorism.

Addressing a gathering on data-analysis methods here on Sunday, he said the fact that the US Secretary of State has included the Islamic Republic of Iran in its terrorism list will in no way affect Iran’s resolution to support the regional nations in their fight against terrorism.

The double-standard policy the West in practicing in anti-terrorism issues indicates its lack of sincerity in claims regarding fight against terrorism, he added.

He stressed that fighting the US arrogant system is the unchangeable policy of the Islamic Republic, adding Iran is not going to pay the smallest attention to worthless claims of the US.

The SNSC chairman further noticed that the US instrumental use of Daesh terrorists as well as its exploitation of world’s biggest state terrorist namely the Zionist regime is a clear indication of its support for terrorism.

Shamkhani said based on the criteria the US uses in defining “terrorism”, there is no wonder to see it has included Iran in its list of terrorists.
