Credit Line to be signed with Russia

(ST)- Sources in the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade said the economic relation with Russia is good, pointing out that a credit line will be signed soon between Syria and Russia.

The Ministry of Economy, the sources said, indicated to a successful experience in this field, a credit line between Syria and Iran, worth one billion dollars as well as the case of facilities to provide assistance, especially in the field of ensuring oil derivatives to Syria from Iran worth 3.6 billion dollars, stressing that the economic relationship with Russia is developing to be parallel to the political relations between the two countries,

The Syrian government began procedures for the development of the economic relationship with Russia through many visits carried out by government delegations that agreed with the Russian side on a lot of points of principle.

Concerning reconstruction operations in cooperation with friendly countries which have helped the Syrian people in his crisis, the sources of the Ministry of Economy said that the Syrian economy is strong in spite of all the challenges and difficulties facing it today thanks to the support provided by friendly countries.

Regarding industry and machines that can be imported by Syria from Russia to promote Syrian industry, the Ministry of Economy clarified that Syria needs all basic industrial components, with reference to the possibility of marketing some of the Syrian textile industries in Russia. As for the activity of the Syrian economy by sea, the sources said that the Ministry of Economy began procedures to simplify transactions and provide facilities which will be experienced next phase.
