Credit and Monetary Council allows individuals coming to Syria to bring in 500,000 USD or their equivalent in other foreign currencies

The Credit and Monetary Council has issued a new decision allowing all individuals coming to Syria to bring in foreign banknotes up to 500,000 US dollars or their equivalent in other foreign currencies.

The individuals should duly declare this amount of money in accordance with the forms approved by the commission for combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Funding.

In 2012, the council issued a decision allowing those coming to Syria to bring in an amount of 50,000 USD and in 2015 it issued a decision allowing travelers to Syria to enter with them an amount of 100,000 USD.
