Damascus, (ST) – With the aim of encouraging young people to be creative and innovative, the “Creative for the Homeland” Foundation held an event to distribute its annual award 2022 at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus.
The event included creative musical, lyrical and poetic performances by a number of young award winners.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation Bahjat Akroush stated in a statement to SANA that this is the first time the award is dedicated for cultural and poetic field.
The topics focused on activating community love, accepting other’ ideas and strengthening the role of youth in the light of the current economic conditions.
He indicated that the Foundation’s goal is to sponsor creators of all age groups to build their capabilities and nurture their scientific, cultural and artistic creativity and excellence.
Dr. Osama Hammoud, a member of the jury in the competition said that through the competition, creators were searched for in the cultural field to activate this movement in society and to find the best poems among poets applying for the award from different governorates, where 3 poems were chosen from among more than 60 poems that were submitted.
Father Youhanna Firas Hakoum from the Syriac Catholic Archdiocese in Qalamoun said that the existing talents are distinguished and are evidence of recovery and victory for the country after the terrorist war it was subjected to. He pointed to the importance of focusing on the young generation and enhancing their creativity to be contributors to the country’s reconstruction.
The winner of the first place in the award, Fares Dadoush said that he participated in the competition for two goals, the first is the importance of the topics that were raised, and the second is to re-create new creativity in poetry and exchange experiences with generations that have an old experience in the field of poetry and culture.
Muhammad Kashlan saw that the distinctive thing in the award is the focus on enhancing the spirit of competition and motivate applicants to come up with new and distinct ideas.
