DAMASCUS – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates sent two letters to the UN Secretary-General and the head of the Security Council in which it said that the US aggression on positions for the Syrian Arab Army in al-Tharda Mountain in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport is a serious and blatant attack on the Syrian Arab Republic and its army, SANA reported.
The Ministry said that this cowardly US aggression is incontrovertible evidence that the United States and its allies support ISIS and other armed terrorist groups, and that Syria demands that the Security Council condemn this aggression and force the United States to never repeat it and to respect Syria’s sovereignty and unity.
According to the ministry, data indicated that the aggression was planned by the United States in order to implement it strategy of prolonging the terrorist war against the Syrian army.
The Ministry went on to say that Syria affirms that fighting terrorism is only acceptable within the framework of coordinating with the Syrian government and army, and any action outside international legitimacy can only be considered a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty.
Regional Leadership of BASP: US Aggression Aimed to Empower ISIS
In the Yemeni capital Sanaa, the Regional Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP)in Yemen condemned the US aggression on the Syrian army positions near Deir Ezzor Airport, stressing that the aggression aimed at enhancing the terrorist groups’ position there and it uncovered the alleged US role in fighting terrorism.
In a statement, the leadership also condemned the Israeli attack on a position in the surroundings of Khan Arnaba town in Quneitra countryside , pointing out that the attack came within the framework of the Zionist enemy’s direct support for the terrorist organizations, mainly Jabhat al-Nusra, which commit atrocities against the locals of Quneitra countryside.
These repeated attacks explains to the entire world the close relation between the terrorist groups and the American-Zionist alliance which seeks destroying Syria, said the statement.
