Coup attempt in Sudan Foiled

The Sudanese government and Armed Forces, announced the abortion of a coup attempt that took place today, at dawn.

The Sudanese news Agency (SUNA) quoted a reliable source at the Sudanese Council of Ministers as saying that the Sudanese military and security authorities this dawn foiled a coup attempt, adding that the situation is under full control and that all those involved in the attempt were arrested and are being investigated.

On his part, Brigadier General Al- Taher Abu Haja, Media Advisor to the Commander-in- Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, announced in a statement to SUNA that the armed forces thwarted the coup attempt and that the situation is under control.
