Council of Sheikhs and Notables of Syrian Tribes in Al-Hasakah: The Siege of the People by the SDF Militias is a War Crime

On January 31st, the Council of Sheikhs and Notables of the Syrian Tribes in Al-Hasakah condemned the unjust siege imposed by the SDF militias in partnership with the American occupation and considered it a war crime against the people in the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli.

“The tribal sheiks and notables denounce in the strongest terms this siege, and consider it a war crime because it aims to kill tens of thousands and has prevented food, water and medicine from reaching them for more than 18 days,” the Council said in a statement.

The statement added: “From its national position, the Council confirms its stand in the first rows with the peaceful protesters and strongly condemns the attacks of the SDF militias against them with live bullets, and warns that the fall of martyrs and wounded in this barbaric way would lead to more unrest and instability.”

The Council held the SDF militias fully responsible for what happened and will happen later.

The statement concluded by saluting the heroic martyr Muhammad Al-Raheel, who was martyred by the bullets of the SDF militias, the protesters and all the besieged people of Hasaka and Qamishli and  wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
