Corruption Scandals Haunt Erdogan’s Family

BERLIN-The German Bild Newspaper has shed light on the corruption scandals which haunt the family of the Turkish President Recepe Tayyib Erdogan.

According to the newspaper, the Turkish President’s children swim in luxury, while his income constitutes only 50,000 euro.

“Erdogan’s children live in luxurious villas and have their own business, which is not too transparent. The president’s younger son, Bilal Erdogan, has for many times been suspected of money laundering. Besides, in 2013 he was involved in a corruption scandal together with his sister Esra,” the newspaper said.

Now Erdogan wants to expand not only the financial, but also the political influence of his “clan”. After the resignation of PM Ahmet Davutoglu, the President nominates his son-in-law, Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, for the post.

On December 2nd 2015, The Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoli Antonov revealed that Turkish officials, including Erdogan in addition to members of his family were involved in buying the oil stolen from Syria and Iraq by “Deash” terrorist organization.

Last November, Russian media outlets published photos of Erdogan’s son, Bilal,  together with some “Deash” leaders showing the close relation between him and members of the terrorist organization.
