GENEVA, (ST)_ The United Nations suspended on Monday the second session of the meetings of the mini constitutional committee that were formed from the enlarged Committee for discussing amendments to the Syrian constitution after discovering coronavirus cases among the participating delegations’ members.
According to the sources that follow up the meetings being held in Geneva, three Coronavirus cases were discovered among the members of the participating delegations, thus the 2nd session was suspended.
The sources made it clear that one member of the national delegation and two others representing the civil society and the opposition delegations tested positive for Covid-19.
The delegations were ordered to stay at their residence and to abide by social distance until being sure that the other members were not infected.
