Lebanese intellectual and political analyst Anis Al-Naqqash died on Monday at the age of 70 in one of Damascus hospitals after days of a battle with Coronavirus.
The Syrian Information Ministry mourned the late thinker in a statement on Monday.
Al-Naqqash was well known for being a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause and resistance against the Zionist schemes in the region. He opposed western-backed Arab regimes and backed Syria’s national stances and its war on foreign-backed terrorism.
He is the founder of the Beirut-based Al-Aman Network for Studies and Researches.
Al-Naqqash’s body will be transferred from Damascus to Beirut on Tuesday for his funeral.
