Corona virus infections around the world are close to 31 million
A capital, (ST) – The number of new infections with the new Corona virus around the world has approached 31 million since its appearance last December.
The Worldo meter site, which is operated by an international team of developers and researchers, stated in a new statistic today that the total number of infections around the world reached 30991301 infections, while the number of deaths reached 961461 and the total cases of recovery reached 22587826 cases.
In Brazil, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 3, 3057 infections and 739 new deaths from the virus during the past 24 hours, which brought the total number of infections to more than 4.5 million, which puts it in third place in the global spread of the disease after the United States and India, while the number of deaths reached more than 136 thousand cases. Brazil ranks second in the world in the number of deaths after the United States.
In Mexico, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 5167 infections and 455 new deaths, noting that the total number reached 694,121infections and 73,258 deaths.
In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed that the number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus increased by 1,345, compared to 2,297 the previous day, which brings the total number of infections recorded in the country since the outbreak of the epidemic to 271415, while the total deaths reached 9386 after two new cases were recorded.
In China, the National Health Commission announced the registration of ten new corona infections, all of them imported from abroad, down from 14 cases the previous day, bringing the total number of infections to 85,279 cases, while the number of deaths remains constant at 4,634.
In Australia, the state of Victoria announced a sharp decline in the number of new infections, recording 14 cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections throughout Australia to 26,900.
The state also announced five deaths from the virus, which brings the total number of deaths in Australia to 849.
In addition, the World Health Organization announced that the number of new people infected with the Coronavirus in African countries reached one million 390 thousand cases, after 16,859 new cases were recorded during the past 48 hours.
A statement issued by the organization’s regional office in Africa stated that the number of deaths among those infected with Covid 19 disease increased by 371 new cases during the same period of time, reaching a total of 33,621.
The statement highlighted that South Africa tops the list of African countries most affected by the Corona pandemic, with 657,627 infections and 15,857 deaths, followed by Nigeria with 56,956 infections and 1094 deaths, while Ghana ranked third with 45,857 injuries and 295 deaths.
In Egypt, the Ministry of Health announced 128 new cases of Coronavirus and 17 deaths, down from 131 cases and 18 deaths the previous day.
The ministry indicated that the total number of infections that were recorded in Egypt with the virus until yesterday is 101,900 cases, including 88,666 cases that have been cured and 5,750 deaths.
