Corona infections decrease in China and South Korea

Capitals,(ST)- China and South Korea today recorded a decrease in the number of new infections of Coronavirus.

Xinhua news agency quoted the National Health Commission as saying today that 40 new cases of the virus have been recorded in the past 24 hours and 22 deaths, bringing the total confirmed cases within the country to 80,735 and 3,319 deaths.

Meanwhile, the agency reported the closure of 14 temporary hospitals set up in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus outbreak in Hubei Province, as the number of patients in the city continued to decrease.

In turn, the South Korean President (Moon JN) announced today that the frequency of the spread of the Corona virus began to slow down, but he called on citizens at the same time to refrain from participating in all forms of gatherings to help health authorities implement quarantine measures more effectively.

 

The South Korean Yonhap News Agency reported that the country’s health authorities reported this morning  that 248 new cases of the virus, indicating a decrease in the number of daily infections from 483 cases recorded yesterday.

In Berlin, the German health authorities announced that the number of confirmed infections in the country had exceeded one thousand.

The World Health Organization announced in a statement that China and other countries prove the possibility of slowing the spread of the Corona virus and reducing its impact through carrying out work that is universally applicable.
