Cooperation Between the Syrian Government and UNDP to Achieve Comprehensive and Sustainable Development in Syria
The governor of Damascus, Mr. Maher Mohammed Marwan, received an official delegation from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in the presence of the Minister of Local Administration and Services. The meeting aims to enhance means of cooperation and integration in the fields of Local Development, Reconstruction and Regional Planning, which promotes effective partnerships between the Syrian government and international organizations.
During the meeting , talks centered on effective strategies for sustainable development in Damascus and the rest of Syria’s governorates.
The talks also touched upon the importance of projects that support the improvement of living conditions and enhance the ability of local communities to recover and grow. The two sides discussed ways to solidify cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, resource management, and institutional capacity development.
Th UNDP-Syrian cooperation comes in the context of ongoing efforts to rebuild the country and achieve stability, reflecting a common vision between the Syrian government and UNDP towards reaching comprehensive and sustainable development that meets the needs of citizens and contributes to the reconstruction of affected areas.
