Cooperation agreement signed to rehabilitate Souk Al-Zarb in Aleppo

In accordance with the standards for the restoration of archaeological markets and the preservation of their historical identity, Syria Trust for Development and Aleppo Governorate along with the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, GDAM the Bank of Bemo Saudi-Fransi (BBSF) and Aleppo City Council, signed a cooperation agreement to rehabilitate and restore Souk al-Zarb (al-Zarb Market).

“The agreement aimed  to begin directly implementing the rehabilitation and restoration operations of the aforementioned market, which is the last market on the straight street leading to the Aleppo Citadel, to advance the wheel of life for the Zarb market after the restoration of a number of other markets” Syria trust for development said on its face book page.

It indicated that the restoration work in the market is expected to last  for a period of 15 months to restore its economic and societal role and its identity among the  Straight Street Markets.
