Convoy of humanitarian aid from Dagestan arrives in Lattakia

Latakia ,(ST)- A convoy of humanitarian aid from the Russian Republic of Dagestan on Wednesday arrived at the shelter centers in the Sports City and the Stadium in Lattakia, in coordination with the Russian Coordination Center.

Ali Shamel, director of the Dagestani Ali Haji Al-Aqushi Charitable Society, explained that the aid includes 5 tons of food and clothing for the earthquake-affected people in Lattakia and Hama. He indicated that another convoy of aid will arrive soon.

The representative of the Russian Coordination Center, Captain Anton, stated that the center’s mission is limited to assisting in distributing aid to those affected.

In his turn, Haider Mashi , the supervisor of the shelter center in the sports city, who represents Al-Areen Humanitarian Foundation, said that the aid has been received from the Dagestani government and will be distributed to families in an organized manner.

Russian aid for earthquake victims arrives to Maharda shelter in Hama

In the same context, Hama governorate distributed on Wednesday food aid provided by the Russian Federation to those affected by the earthquake in the Saint Georges Monastery shelter in the Mahrada area in the governorate’s countryside.

Colonel Evenis, deputy commander in charge of the administrative affairs of the Russian forces for the Idlib region said in a statement that the aid which included various foodstuffs, is a humanitarian contribution from the Russian friends for the benefit of those affected to alleviate their suffering. He stressed the continuity of providing this aid ao that it involves all the affected people in the various areas of Hama.

In his turn, the official in charge of the St. George’s Monastery, Father Paul Haddad stated in a similar statement that the Russian aid includes food materials that will be distributed both to residents of the shelter center and to the affected and needy people outside the center from the Mahrada region.
