“Contrast”… an artistic digital visual show… the first of its kind in Syria by director Adham Safar”
The artistic digital visual show, entitled “Contrast,” adopted light, digital, and sound technologies, in addition to live dance performance and live music with four days at the Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus. The work, which was concluded Sunday evening, included eight performances.
The show, which was hosted in the multi-purpose hall, was directed by Adham Safar.
Throughout the show, the audience traveled in a digital visual display between dream and reality within the journey of the atom including the attractions and repelling of its elements.
Regarding the show, director Safar said in a statement: “Contrast, as a work, embodies a journey with light and body, we tried as a work team to present a digital visual show that is the first of its kind in Syria, where we tried to emulate what is presented internationally in this field, relying on our passion for this type of art, indicating that the experience is new with all its details and carries a lot of specialty.
Director Safar explained that this type of art is new in Syria, noting that it is taking strategic steps towards the future.
The show is written by Samer Muhammad Ismail, and choreographed by Rahaf Al-Jaber.
While Carmen Ali, Moayed Shawish, Shaima Mahmoud, Muhammad Samer Zulfiqar, Christina Wakim, Ghufran Hamada, “Rawan Al-Rahiya,” “Maria Ismail,” and “Ghazal Al-Badr , participated in performing the dances.
The artist Adham Safar is a graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, Department of Sound and Visual Arts. He is a teacher at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and an organizer of many specialized workshops in theatrical visual arts. He served as head of the Sound and Light Arts Department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and is a director of several theatrical works, concerts, openings of festivals and cultural events. He was also a lighting and scenograph designer for many theatrical performances in Syria and abroad. He is also the founder of the Damascus Laboratory for Audiovisual Performing Arts.
