Since the first day of announcing the extinguishing of the fires that devoured large areas in the northern Latakia countryside, the General Company for Electricity in Latakia began its works to rehabilitate electrical networks and repair damage to the electricity cables and towers that were affected by the fires so that the service return as soon as possible.
Engineer Jaber Al -Assi, the general manager of the company, said that the initial estimated value of the damage caused by the fires to the electrical network exceeds one billion and 100 million pounds, as the number of pillars of the average tension completely reached 35 wooden columns and 56 points at the low level of tension.
He added that the workshops are working to return the electrcity supplies to the villages of Kherbet Solas, Solas, al-Tabbal, Gammam, and Sukkar that were affected by fire.
In turn, Eng. Ahmed Diop, the supervisor of the project to replace the medium tension towers, which is harmful to the fires on the Rabia axis, indicated that the plan includes replacing 14 towers fully affected on the Al -Rayana line.
The Director of Studies at the General Company for Latakia Electricity, Engineer Nawaf Salloum, explained that the necessary study was conducted for damage to the pillars of medium and low tension, electrical transformers, and division of labor to accomplish the tasks required as soon as possible.
