Continued sit-in before Tunisian Foreign Ministry for 49 Weeks to Restore Relations with Syria

TUNISIA,(ST)_ Scores  of Tunisians continue  their sit in  under the title ” Arab pride Sit ” in front of the headquarters of the Tunisian  Foreign Ministry for successive 49 weeks , demanding  the restoration of relations with Syria and the opening of its embassy in Tunisia.

The  sitters  hoisted Syrian and Tunisian flags, chanting slogans voicing persistence to continue the sit in  until the Syrian embassy in Tunisia reopened   and  raised a large banner reading ” you cut ties with  the Liberals and brought in  Zionists as  visitors” in a clear reference to the normalization policy  pursued by the Tunisian interim President Monsef Marzouki.

Last June, the “Arab national list” in Tunisia , which organized the sit in   confirmed that terrorists extremist groups and their supporters will not be able to undermine Syria’s steadfastness  and  strength , and  demanded   the  return of diplomatic relations with Syria, pointing to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and their leadership and the sacrifices and achievements of its brave army in “cleansing terrorists and extremist groups from the Syrian soil. “
