Continued Consultation and Coordination Between Moscow and Damascus-Underlined

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E President Bashar Al-Assad received on Sunday Russian Special Envoy Azmatullah Kol Mohammadov and the accompanying delegation.

The talks dealt with the efforts exerted by Russian Federation to hold the second round of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in Moscow, where both sides emphasized the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between Moscow and Damascus to ensure the success of these efforts.

H.E President Al-Assad asserted Syria’s keenness to continue the work on making success of the efforts exerted by Russia, and that the most important point is to achieve an agreement on agenda that determined the methodology of work, dialogue principles and the mechanism to achieve its objectives.

President Al-Assad pointed out to the trust of the Syrian government and people in Russian leadership and the tireless efforts made to find a solution in Syria despite of the obstacles made by some regional and western countries, particularly with regard to continuing in supporting terrorist organizations at all levels.

Kol Mohammadov, for his part, appreciated the openness of the Syrian government to the political initiatives in Syria and steps taken to make success of these initiatives, including reconciliations carried out by the government which emphasizes the keenness of Syrian leadership to stop bloodshed in all ways possible.

He asserted that the success of the political process is coupled with work at international level to put pressure on countries that are rejecting the solution and supporting terrorist organizations in order to change their stances and to stop their all forms of supporting terrorism.
