Russian Foreign Ministry expresses its sincere at the death of Minister Al-Moallem
Moscow, (ST) – The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed sincerest condolences at the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem.
In a statement to journalists, Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that, “it is very sad news; Russia lost a very close friend in the Arab world who was a reliable partner and a knowledgeable and experienced diplomat and politician.”
Bogdanov said that al-Moallem had paid many visits to Moscow and that he personally was a good friend of his whom he respected. “We had forty years of close and intense communication with him when he worked in Damascus and when al-Moallem was still Ambassador to Washington.”
Venezuela and Cuba express their condolences on the death of Minister Al-Moallem
In Caracas and Havana, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed his condolences at the death of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Walid Al-Moallem.
In a tweet today, President Maduro said that, “Al-Moallem was a close brother and friend, I met him during diplomatic work; I send my deepest condolences to his family and to all the Syrian people.”
Meanwhile, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences on the death of Al-Moallem.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said in a tweet that, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the people and the Syrian government on the death of our friend Walid Al-Moallem, and also to his family and friends.”
Earlier, the Prime Ministry and the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry had mourned the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem who passed away on Monday at dawn.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman expresses its condolences at the death of Minister Al-Moallem
In Muscat, the Foreign Ministry in the Sultanate of Oman expressed condolences at death of Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Sultanate of Oman said “The Foreign Ministry expresses condolences to the brotherly people in the Syrian Arab Republic on the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid Al-Moallem.”
The Ministry added “Al-Moallem had distinguished contributions in the diplomatic work at the regional and international levels.”
Al-Moallem played an important role in serving his country and defending its national interests and security, says Zarif in a message of condolence
In Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed his condolences at the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem, stressing that the late diplomat played an important role throughout his life in serving and defending national interests and the security of his country.
The General Administration of Information at the Iranian Foreign Ministry today said that Zarif said in a condolence message sent to the Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, “we have received the news of the death of Walid al-Moallem, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister with great sorrow.”
Zarif added that, I would like to express my condolences to you and to the family of the late diplomat and my colleagues in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for this loss.
