Condemnations of Trump-Netanyahu “Deal of the Century” continue

BAGHDAD, (ST)- Iraqi politicians and parliamentarians continued on Thursday to condemn the so-called “Deal of the Century” announced by US President Donald Trump and called for rejecting it.

The Iraqi Parliament‘s Foreign Relations Committee said that implementing this deal violates the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. It expressed rejection of the US bias towards Israel that perpetuates its occupation of Arab lands including the Syrian Golan and the Palestinian city of al-Quds.

The Iraqi “Victory Alliance” asserted that the “Deal of the Century” will increase the state of tension in the region, calling on all peace-loving countries and UN institutions as well as international and regional organizations to back the Palestinian people’s rights.

On his part, head of the Iraqi Popular Committee for Solidarity with Syria and Resistance Abdul Rida al-Hameed, said that the Trump-Netanyahu’s “Deal of the Century” was born dead, because all forces of aggression can’t change facts on the ground, or history and legitimacy.

He called for an all-out Islamic Arab national uprising that restores the role of resistance in winning the battle with enemies of the nation.

Iraq’s Islamic Dawa Party said that the deal is part of the US-led international conspiracy against the Islamic nation.

Palestinian Foreign Ministry completely rejects “Deal of the Century”

In occupied Palestine, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said the so-called “Deal of the Century” aims at liquidating the Palestinian cause at the expense of the internationally-recognized Palestinian people’s rights.

“We completely reject any deal that violates international legitimacy resolutions,” said the ministry, reiterating that any attempt to pass this ill-famed deal undermines every chance to establish an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as a capital.

The ministry called for ending the state of division in order to foil all the conspiracies aimed at terminating the Palestinian cause.

In the same context, head of the Palestinian National Council Salim al-Zaanoun affirmed that the Palestinian stance is firm with regards to the nonnegotiable rights of the Palestinians, foremost of which is the right of self determination, repatriation and establishing a Palestinian state with al-Quds as a capital.

Al-Zaanoun said that the deal undermines any settlement between the Palestinians and Israel.
