Composing Details on Implementing JCPOA to Accomplish in Days

Head of Headquarters to Supervise Proper Implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said on Wednesday composing the last details on implementing the JCPOA will end in matter of one or two days.

Speaking on the sidelines of a conference titled ‘Surveying the JCPOA: A Look from Within’, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said that the job is being accomplished rapidly and the JCPOA full implementation will hopefully begin maximum as of Saturday, or Sunday.

‘From the very day the JCPOA implementation will being the SWIFT banking system will be restored and the banks which were detached from that banking service will once again be able to link,’ he said.

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication provides a network that enables financial institutions worldwide to send and receive information about financial transactions in a secure, standardized and reliable environment.

‘So far as we have realized, some of our banks are already connected to the SWIFT and doing banking transactions in that framework and the rest of the Iranian banks will gradually join, I believe without any difficulty,’ added Araqchi.

Arak Reactor redesigning

The head of Headquarters to Supervise Proper Implementation of JCPOA focusing on Iran’s commitment to redesigning of Arak Heavy Water Nuclear Reactor said that in order to make sure that modernization of Arak Reactor will be pursued properly Iran signed an official document with the 5+1 Group, although there are other documents on the issue.

‘All the same, what gives us 100 percent certainty on Arak Reactor’s case is that the modernization of the reactor will be implemented completely relying on Iranians’ capabilities,’ he added.

Araqchi reiterated that the main contract will be signed with an Iranian company and that company will be commissioned to use the capabilities of the country’s own capabilities in modernization of Arak Reactor, while signing sub-contracts with companies in six world powers thanks to the post-JCPOA atmosphere for manufacturing certain parts and facilities and designing some most delicate parts of the project.

‘If the other side countries will keep acting in accordance with their commitments so much the better, but otherwise we will not remain waiting for the, since the main guarantee for us for implementing our parts of the JCPOA is our own indigenous capabilities and resources,’ said Araqchi.

He said that the world powers’ awareness of such capabilities in Iran urges them to keep their promises and respect their commitments.

US Navy marines’ case and Iran-Iraq borders

The head of Iranian Headquarters to Supervise Proper Implementation of JCPOA focusing on the US Navy marines case said that the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesman has fully elaborated the case, but briefly speaking I can say that the Islamic Republic considers its border issue quite seriously and there is no room for joking there.

‘Any foreign trespassing of the national border is therefore dealt with seriously,’ he said.

The country’s armed forces, the Foreign Ministry and the diplomatic channels will act in accordance with their duties so that the misunderstandings will not lead to occurrence of crisis,’ he said.

On Iran-Iraq borders, Araqchi said that the 1975 Iran-Iraq agreement is still effective and the commitments made by both sides are to be respected and Iran is strongly defending it, not to allow to breach it.

Saudi gov’t seeking to hamper JCPOA implementation

On the other hand in Belgrade, Iranian ambassador to Belgrade Hamid Moayyer said on Wednesday that Saudi government is making every effort to put hurdles in the way of implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – reached in July between Iran and the six world powers.

Speaking during a meeting with Romanian Deputy Foreign Minister Carmen Burlacu, Moayyer said that Saudi efforts to hamper the deal come as the JCPOA is to be implemented in coming days.

He said that Riyadh government is making every effort to sabotage chances for implementing the nuclear deal resorting to escalation.

Few days left to implementing the nuclear deal, its opponents in the US and the region have intensified their negative measures to prevent the implementation of the deal,’ Moayyer said.

He described Riyadh’s execution of a prominent Shia cleric who had a significant number of followers both inside Saudi Arabia and the entire region as a measure to divert public attention from its support for terrorism and in line with efforts to hamper the implementation of the nuclear deal.

Noting that Saudi Arabia may pursue new plots to fuel regional tensions in coming days, Moayyer said that Iran, as a peace-seeking country that has always been countering terrorism,will never allow Riyadh to achieve its goals.
