HOMS,(ST)_Competent authorities seized yesterday several artifacts dating back to the first and second centuries AD, while inspecting a farm area near al-Madafen (cemetery) to the south of Palmyra city in rural Homs.
According to a source in the province, terrorists had excavated in the farms area and unearthed these pieces and hide them to be smuggled and sold outside Syria.
In a similar statement, Secretary of Palmyra national Museum Khalil al-Hariri said that the artifact include a panel bust of hard limestone for a Palmyrene man ,one panel bust of a Palmyrene Lady dressed in traditional clothing and jewels, in addition to a funerary panel, pointing out that these pieces date back to the period between the first and the second centuries AD.
