Commissioned by President al-Assad, Minister Azzam offers condolences on the death of the President of the Conference of Arab Parties, Safwan al-Qudsi
Damascus (ST): Commissioned by President Bashar al-Assad, Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam offered condolences on the death of a member of the Central Command of the National Progressive Front, Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Union Party and President of the Arab Parties Conference Safwan al-Qudsi, who passed away last Friday morning at the age of 82.
The funeral was attended by Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh, Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, Hilal Al-Hilal, a number of ministers and delegations from popular and religious activities.
The family of the deceased expressed their thanks and appreciation for the generous gesture of the leader of the country and his condolences to them, which expresses appreciation for the patriotic stances of the late during the course of his life.
The mourners highlighted the virtues of the late and his intellectual productions, through which he reflected the civilized face of Syria, its role and status.
Al-Qudsi held the position of President of the General Conference of Arab Parties. He is also a member of the Arab Writers Union and has 11 books on politics, history and contemporary thought.
