Commissioned by President Al-Assad, Ambassador Abdel-Karim participates in the funeral ceremony of Arab intellectual Al-Nakkash

Beirut  (ST):  Delegated by President Bashar Al-Assad, the Syrian ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdel-Karim, participated in the funeral of the late Arab thinker Anis Al-Nakkash  to his final resting place in Ghbeiry in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

During his participation in the funeral ceremony, Ambassador Abdul Karim offered President al-Assad’s condolences to the family of the deceased, who thanked President al-Assad for this generous gesture, which had a great effect on their condolences.

 

Large crowds from all Lebanese regions, representatives of Lebanese parties, forces, national personalities and Palestinian resistance groups participated in the funeral. 

President of the International Federation of Resistance Scholars, Sheikh Maher Hammoud,  referred in his speech to the pioneering history of the late in the ranks of the resistance and in supporting the Palestine question and standing by Syria, the Iranian Islamic Revolution, and the just causes of the nation and the world’s free people.

Sheikh Hammoud indicated that the nation’s heroes, including the late Nakkash, paved the way towards the liberation of Palestine, our occupied land and our sanctities from the Zionist occupation.

After that, prayers were held over the body of the deceased to be buried in the new Al-Harj cemetery in Beirut.

It is noteworthy that al-Nakkash, known for his nationalist positions in support of Syria and the Palestine question, was born in Beirut in 1951 and joined the Lebanese student movement. He was the coordinator of the Safety Network for Research and Strategic Studies. He passed away two days ago in a hospital in Damascus at the age of 70 years.
