Commemorative postage stamp on World Book Day

The Syrian Post Corporation issued a commemorative postage stamp on World Book Day, which marks the 23rd day of April each year.

In a statement, which SANA received a copy of today, the Foundation indicated that the value of the stamp is SPY 600, pointing that stamp collectors and those wishing to acquire it can obtain it from post offices in all governorates.

The Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO in 1995 chose the 23rd of April of each year to celebrate World Writers’ Day with the aim of encouraging reading among all, especially among young people, encouraging the exploration of pleasure through reading and renewing respect for the irrevocable contributions of all those who paved the way to the social and cultural progress of all humanity.
