Combating Terrorism the Priority

 To discuss the issue of terrorism in Geneva is Syria’s top priority and terrorism should be with all its forms halted, reiterated Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi.

The delegation of coalition opposition is afraid of discussing the issue of terrorism so it fabricates accusations against the Syrian government, added the minister.

The minister said that the opposition coalition delegation should condemn the latest massacre perpetrated by the terrorists at Maan Village in the governorate of Hama.

Minister al-Zoubi pointed out that the UN has full knowledge about the efforts exerted by the Syrian government as to provide humanitarian assistance and food to the needy in all regions including those used by the terrorist groups as human shields.

Minister al-Zoubi declared that whatever results to achieve in Geneva 2 should be put to popular referendum, asserting that the Syrian official delegation is willing to orderly and logically discussing Geneva 1 articles and starting from article pertaining to combating terrorism and halting violence.

Earlier, Dr. Faisal al-Mikdad the deputy foreign and expatriates minister outlined the combating of terrorism and halting violence is the second to none priority in Geneva.

Dr. al-Mikdad underscored that there could be no talk about a genuine credible political process in Syria without halting violence, terrorism and ending foreign interference in Syria’s affairs.

The deputy foreign and expatriates minister pointed out that the Syrian official delegation was open and ready to discuss Geneva 1 article one by one and to discus the issue of transitional government in its logical sequence and order.

Dr. al-Mikdad blasted the stances adopted by France in supporting terrorism in Syria calling for the application of Chapter 7 on the USA, France and UK for their support to terrorists in Syria, reiterating Syria’s legitimate right to defend itself and the Syrians against the terrorists and their backers.
