Colors of Syria Bazaar to support children with Downs syndrome

Handicrafts, accessories, clothes and various things were displayed at the ” Colors of Syria”  bazaar,  which was recently held for 3 days at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus..

The revenues of the products that were made by 130 handicraft men and women and displayed in the three-day event will help support the “Sosiet Project for Children with Down Syndrome” at the Juthoor Association.

The Bazaar’s organizer, Rana Tabaa, told Syria Times e-newspaper that the main goal of the activity is to support the Al Juthoor Association to pursue its activities.

“The exhibits included embroideries of various types and colors that covered clothes, accessories, artwork, wool works, colored cloth, handmade  perfumes and gifts, as well as food and sweets corners,” she said.

Tabaa pointed out that since the start of holding Bazaars at the Sheraton Hotel in 2016, our purpose has been to promote the products of Syrian women with the possibility of finding permanent job opportunities for a number of them, and to shed light on the traditional Syrian handicrafts in a contemporary way and introduce them to society again.

One of the Participants, Emil Tuma, from the ‘Tata Mari”  food company, displayed  food products made  of natural ingredients,  including olive oil , jams , honey …you name it. 

He told the Syria times (e-news paper ): “The Bazar is a good opportunity  for marketing our  goods and acquainting people  with our products. Also we like to support this charitable event” .

Another participant  Diab al –Haffar displayed old oriental designed-handmade works in which he glued seashells on wooded pieces.

“ The aim of our participation  is to support the charitable works and to promote our goods” he said

Asmaa Othman representative of “Marvel A D” chocolate company, who set up a small project to make chocolate, believes that the bazaar is a good opportunity to show her delicious chocolate , which she loves to make.
