Colombia and Brazil: What is happening in Gaza is a genocide and Israeli occupation officials are liars

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has confirmed that the Israeli entity is committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

President Petro expressed, in a post on X platform, his support for the statements of Brazilian President Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da SilvaL that what is happening in Gaza Strip is genocide.

He added that his Brazilian counterpart revealed the truth which must be defended, otherwise barbarism will destroy us.

The Colombian president Petro indicated that the entire region must unite for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, and the International Court of Justice ruling regarding Israel’s crimes must be implemented.

In turn, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has affirmed that the Israeli occupation entity’s officials lie in their statements.

“The statements of Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz regarding Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are unacceptable  and false in content and  disgraceful”  Novosti quoted Vieira, whose country is hosting a meeting of G20 foreign ministers this week, as saying

” What is taking place  in the Gaza Strip is not a war, it is genocide against women and children”, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said during a visit to Ethiopia to attend the African Union summit

He added “What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people did not happen at any other moment in history. In fact, it happened with what Hitler did during World War II.”

Against the backdrop of these statements, the Israeli occupation announced that President Lula da Silva is persona non grata, and Brazil subsequently issued a decision to expel its Israeli ambassador due to the continued aggression against Gaza.
