Cold War Media

Undoubtedly, no one ignores the great role which was played by major media outlets, especially with the increasing pace of international conflicts and wars which take place in many countries all over the world. The media becomes the most important political tool in the hands of great powers, and the US media is the best proof for this.

It seems clearly that the main function of the US media is but to mobilize the world public opinion in line with its interests and colonial ambitions. The latest example of this is the large media campaign launched by the US media to discredit the Russian stance concerning the war against terrorism.

The US always used to be the great power in the world and it has benefited from the imbalance of the world balance, especially after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. So, the US lives a state of arrogance and doesn’t see the mistakes which it committed in many countries.

The US media has benefited from America’s military and economic strength. Besides, there are no other media that can compete with the US media. The thing which enables the US media to fabricate any of the international incidents according to its interests and ambitions.

But despite the strength of the US media, it has failed to convince the world’s nations of its wrong policies, and this was the reason for the emergence of many media outlets that have been able to achieve success in facing the US failed policies towards the international issues.

The quest to establish regional and international media organizations for facing the US and west monopolization of events industry and marketing has become a very important issue. Because the world as a whole will find itself in front of new form of domination which is a media one. Media seems to be a very effective instrument that has a rapid spread in the Cold War which the world is living in nowadays.
