Claims about Return of Relations between Damascus and Hamas “Baseless”: Media Source

DAMASCUS, (ST)- All rumors and reports about the return of relations between the Syrian government and Hamas are “baseless”, a media source has stressed, pointing out that all the news circulated by some media outlets won’t change Syria’s attitude towards Hamas which supported terrorists in Syria since the beginning of the terrorist war on the country and which has become refused by the Syrian people.

In a statement to SANA on Friday, the source refuted media reports and remarks published about renewing any relations with Hamas movement, saying that Syria has adopted a principled stance on this issue.

In the past, the source added, Syria’s stance on Hamas was based on the fact that Hamas was a resistance movement against “Israel”, but later the stance was changed as it has been proved that Hamas adopted the mentality of the “Moslem Brotherhood” when it supported terrorist groups in Syria and followed the same scheme “Israel” wanted to implement in Syria.
