Civil society in Qamishli city joins efforts to empower women

350 women and girls have been graduated from training course on various crafts and professions held by “The Good and Social Services Association” in the Syrian city of Qamishli in cooperation with Syria’s Humanitarian Fund.

The courses include training on professions like beauty and hairdressing, sewing, first medical aid, housekeeping and recycling.

Head of the association Ibrahim Al-Khaledi told a SANA reporter that the cources are part of the association’s “Safe Spaces” project which aims at qualifying women and girls, who seek to have a job, through supporting and empowering them in different specializations according to their options.

On her part, Director of the “Safe Spaces” project Hiba Al-Khaledi said that the project focuses on supporting and empowering women economically and socially, pointing out that the association’s role does not stop at organizing professional courses only, rather, it continues to communicate with the women and girls to secure their most important needs.
