Civil Defense extinguishes forest fires in Lattakia countryside

The Civil Defense extinguished a forest fire on Deir Hanna Road in Qardaha countryside in Lattakia Governorate at dawn today, after working for about 7 hours.

The Civil Defense teams were able to extinguish all the fires, which numbered 20, that broke out in Lattakia and Tartous countrysides since yesterday evening, most of which were forest fires.

The teams faced major challenges due to the rugged terrain of the area, the difficulty the fire trucks faced in reaching it, the strong wind speeds that spread the fires, and the presence of several fire centers in one area.
