Civil Defense controls fire in Masyaf forests

Syrian Civil Defense teams, with the support of local residents, were able to control a fire in the forested areas (Mount Al-Mashhad Al-Ali), near Masyaf in the western Hama countryside. According to the Civil Defense channel on Telegram, the fire’s spread was stopped and brought under control.

However, some areas which had caught fire were still burning this morning. Firefighting teams are dealing with them trying to isolate and cool the sites to prevent the fires from re-igniting.
Civil Defense stressed that forests are a national treasure for all Syrians, and it is our collective duty to preserve them in order to preserve biodiversity.
