Citizens in northern countryside of Hasakah fear that homes may collapse due to tunnels dug by “SDF” militia

Many residents of the northern countryside of Hasakah, along the border line with Turkey, fear of the collapse of the tunnels dug by the US-backed “SDF” (Qasad) militia as a result of aftershocks in this region.

Local sources stated that the tunnels that the militia continues to dig between residential neighborhoods and under the main roads could lead to the collapse of homes and facilities over the citizens in those areas.

Civil sources in the town of al-Qahtaniyya said that the (Qasd) militia dug a tunnel around the entire town in the eastern countryside of Qamishli, which threatens the houses on the outskirts of the town with collapse as a result of the excavation work, especially since some of the tunnels pass under the town’s houses.

In the town of Ma’badah, located to the east of the town of Al-Qahtaniya, the sources indicated that the tunnels caused the collapse of a number of buildings during the last period, including a building under construction, due to the digging of one of the tunnels and its passage under the houses.

Local sources in the city of Qamishli pointed out that the collapse of a tunnel caused a fuel tanker to fall on the main street of the city’s Tay neighborhood, while other tunnels caused collapses in the middle of the street of Al-Sayaha.

The tunnels created by the (Qasd) militia years ago in the areas in which it is deployed have caused the death of a large number of people during excavation operations as a result of sudden collapses in the soil.
