Citizens in Hasakah city without drinking water for 55 consecutive days due to Turkish attacks on the water station

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to prevent drinking water from being available to citizens in the Syrian city of Hasakah for the 55th consecutive day by repeatedly attacking the water supply line and the electric power line feeding Allouk water station.

The Turkish behavior causes sharp water scarcity that exacerbates the suffering of around two million citizens.

In a statement to SANA, Director of the General Water Establishment in Hasakah Mahmoud Okla confirmed the continuity of cutting off water supplies for Hasakah due to Turkish attacks, pointing out that maintenance workshops have not been able so far to enter the water station to fix the damage in the power line so that it works and pumps water again.

Regarding the government’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people in Hasakah due to water scarcity, Okla said that work continues with the aim of securing drinking water for the citizens, operating the entire 16 desalination stations in the city center and supervising the distribution of the water tanks that are filled by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch on the city’s neighborhoods.
