Chizhov: Russian military operations in Syria target ISIS, al-Nusra Front and other allied groups

NEW YORK, (ST)_Russia Envoy to the European Union has said Russian military operations in Syria target ISIS and other terrorist organizations.

In a televised interview, Vladimir Chizhov said that Russian warplanes hit ISIS, al-Nusra Front [Jabhat al-Nusra] and other allied terrorist groups. ” Russian air strikes do not hit the moderate opposition,” he added.

Yesterday, the Russian President told his French counterpart that Russian military operations in Syria target extremist terrorist organizations, including ISIS and al-Nusra Front and other groups.

Vladimir Putin clarified that Russian operations’ support for Syrian army’s attacks aims at preserving Syria’s unity.
