Chinese Special Envoy for Syria reiterates China’s support to Syria

 

Cairo – Chinese Special Envoy for Syria Ambassador Xie Xiaoyan reiterated that “the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria must be respected and protected.”

In statements during his visit to Egypt, Xiaoyan said Monday that the future of Syria should be determined only by the Syrian people, calling upon the international community for offering proposals to get out of the crisis in Syria, but not imposing solutions on the Syrians, SANA reported.

The Chinese envoy pointed out that his country continued communications with the Syrian government, the Syrian “opposition” and the countries of the region which have direct or indirect influence on the situation in Syria, asserting that that he held talks with a number of senior Egyptian officials on exchanging views on the efforts for finding a solution to the crisis in Syria.

 

He affirmed the agreement of china and Egypt on means of getting out of the crisis in Syria, particularly the need for finding a political solution and restoring stability to the country as soon as possible, which will be reflected on the countries of the region.

The Chinese diplomat expressed China’s keenness on exchanging views with Egypt on the efforts of reconstruction of Syria in light of China’s strong desire to participate in those efforts on the governmental and private levels.
