Tourist groups from China, Russia and Denmark visited the ancient city of Bosra al-Sham in Daraa countryside today and got acquainted with the ancient city’s monuments and archaeological buildings.
The archaeological tourist groups, which include company managers, engineers, retirees, judges and lawyers, expressed their admiration for the archaeological sites in the city.
Anton Elgin, a Russian judge, indicated that he was happy with this visit and very impressed by the city’s architectural and archaeological structure.
Victoria Vorontsova, a Russian lawyer, stressed the need to preserve archaeological buildings because they are evidence of great civilizations that have disappeared, and left immortal treasures indicating the extent of their progress and development.
Marina Schneiderman, a Russian tourist, said that protecting the archaeological structure in Bosra is the responsibility and duty of organizations concerned with heritage and civilization in the world.
Ming Li, a Chinese engineer, explained that the archaeological city has unique construction methods that should be used in modern designs, stressing the need to preserve this archaeological wealth.
Martin Andersen, director of a Danish tourism company, pointed out that Syria is an important tourist station and a destination for tourism companies, because it contains various historical monuments indicating the succession of multiple civilizations.
The director of Daraa tourism, Yasser Al-Saadi, pointed to the need for joint international action to preserve archaeological and tourist sites in the world because they reflect civilization and values of peoples and nations, noting the readiness of the Directorate to provide all facilities to activate the tourist movement in the province.
