Chinese President affirms his country’s effort to develop cooperation with Iran

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that China will work to develop friendly cooperation with Iran regardless of changes in the international and regional situation.

During a meeting with the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan, the Chinese President said :” China supports Iran in protecting its national sovereignty, security and dignity, and steadily promoting economic and social development”.

He pointed out that China is ready to work with Iran in the fields of mutual support, and upholding the basic norms controlling the international relations such as non-interference in the internal affairs and protect the legitimate rights and interests for both countries.

The Chinese president pointed out that his country is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Iran in various fields, promote the healthy and stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and bring more benefits to the peoples of the two countries.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that China supports Iran’s efforts to ensure regional peace and stability and is willing to maintain close communication with it.
