Chinese Foreign Ministry: We condemn the violations committed against the international law in Rafah
Beijing (ST) – China called once again on the Israeli occupation entity to stop its attacks on Rafah in the southern of Gaza Strip as soon as possible, in order to prevent the worsening of the humanitarian situation.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stated during a press conference today in response to a question about Beijing’s position on the ongoing Israeli occupation attacks on Rafah: “We oppose and condemn the actions committed against the civilians and international law.”
“We call on Israel to stop the military operations as soon as possible, avoid casualties among innocent civilians, and prevent an even more devastating humanitarian catastrophe in Rfaah”, Ning added.
Ning stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state represents the solution to the Palestinian issue.
She indicated China’s readiness to work with all parties to hold a larger, more reliable and effective international peace conference as soon as possible, and to formulate a specific timetable and roadmap for implementing this solution.
Regarding the International Court of Justice (ICJ) holding a hearing session today on Israel’s historic occupation of the Palestinian territories, Ning said: “China is ready to work with the international community to continue making positive contributions to promote an early solution to the Palestinian issue and achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.”
