Chinese Foreign Ministry: America should end its military presence in Syria and lift coercive measures

Beijing (ST): China once again called for the withdrawal of the US occupation forces from Syrian territory, stressing the illegality of these forces and the atrocity of their crimes, referring to the impact of unilateral coercive measures on the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria.

Commenting on the two letters sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ex patriots  to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council on practices, looting and destruction carried out  in Syria in cooperation with American agents and terrorist organizations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said during his daily press conference : “It is shocking to see that the massive American looting in Syria is continuing as the country  is still trying to emerge from a crisis that lasted for more than a decade and a serious humanitarian crisis that is still facing its people.

He added that the repeated American intervention, especially the military one, caused great losses among civilians in Syria and invaluable economic losses, in addition to the displacement of millions of people.

He pointed out that the US imposed harsh economic coercive measures on Syria, which deprived its people of their basic needs for life and impeded economic development and reconstruction in the country.
