Chinese Foreign Minister: Martyrdom of Iranian president and his companions is an unfortunate incident that shocked the entire world
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi described the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and their companions as a result of the helicopter crash as “unfortunate incident that shocked the whole world.”
Xinhua Agency reported that during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Wang presented to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safri his country’s condolences and sympathy for Tehran on this incident, stressing that China stands firmly alongside Iranian friends and will continue to enhance strategic cooperation with Iran and make joint efforts to regional and global peace.
Wang expressed his conviction that the Iranian government and people “will turn their grief into strength, strengthen their strategies, and maintain national stability and development.”
In turn, Safri expressed thanked the Chinese President and Foreign Minister for offering their condolences on the “tragic” deaths of Raisi and Abdollahian and for their steadfast support for Iran, stressing the stability of Iran’s internal and foreign policies and its attachment of great importance to strengthening cooperation with China in various fields.
