Chinese FM: Suffering of Syrians results from US flagrant interference

Beijing (ST): The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that what happened in Syria, especially the suffering of its people was the result of the wrong doings of the US and other states through their flagrant interference in Syria’s internal affairs.

The spokesman of the Ministry Geng Shuang severely denounced the statements made by US Secretary of State concerning the veto used by China against a UNSC draft resolution regarding the transfer of humanitarian aid to Syria.

” If Washington is really concerned with the Syrian people and the humanitarian situation in Syria, it has to think deeply, because the US and other states are fully responsible for what happened in Syria. The people of the world can clearly see those who continue to lie- their hearts full of hypocrisy – their hands stained with blood”, Shaung said, renewing Beijing’s categorical rejection of the unjustifiable accusations directed by the US against China.

 

The Chinese official affirmed that the US has been politicizing humanitarian issues and following double standard policy, adding that China’s voting at the US Security Council is based on objective principles and the interests of the Syrian people.

He concluded that the US abstention from voting on the Russian draft resolution gives a tangible evidence on the US hypocrisy and politicizing of humanitarian issues.
