Chinese FM: Al-Moallem devoted his life to defending Syria’s independence, sovereignty and unity

Beijing (ST): Member of the Chinese State Council and Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed his condolences over the death of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem.

Xinhua news agency quoted  him as saying in his condolences cable that the late al-Moallem devoted his life to defending Syria’s independence, sovereignty and unity, stood firmly to defend Syrian people’s interests and struggled tirelessly until the last breath to defend Syrian people and homeland, noting that his nationalism  and professionalism attracted admiration and would remain in memory.

 

He added that the late al-Moallem had offered important contributions to develop  cordial historical relations between Syria and China expressing his country’s complete support for Syrian government and people in their defence of their country’s independence, sovereignty and national unity.
