China’s Huawei launches its new processor, bypassing US sanctions

The Chinese company Huawei launched its new processor that it developed for smart phones and devices, in a move that represents a bypass of the sanctions imposed by the United States on it.

The company said in a statement: Its new processor, the Crane 9006C, was developed using 5 nm technology, and will be used with the recently announced Queen John 540 laptops, in addition to some new smart phones, such as the P70 devices, which will be launched early next year.

The administration of former US President Donald Trump blacklisted Huawei, the Chinese telecommunications giant, in 2019, preventing American companies from selling a range of sensitive technologies, including microprocessors, and the current administration of President Joe Biden has kept these sanctions in effect until now.
