China welcomes the return of Syria to the Arab League

Beijing, (ST) – China welcomed Syria’s return to the League of Arab States. It stressed that this step will contribute to strengthening unity and self-reliance in the Arab world and peace and stability in the Middle East.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a press conference on Monday: China welcomes the decision and expresses congratulations over Syria’s return to the Arab League, and it believes that this will help the Arab countries enhance unity, self-reliance, accelerate development, revitalize the Arab world and promote peace and stability in the Arab world and Middle East, in line with the long-term interests of the Arab countries.

The spokesman stressed that China, as a sincere friend of Syria and other Arab countries, welcomes this step and supports Arab solidarity. It will continue to exert unremitting efforts to achieve this goal, and it will continue supporting Syria’s return to the Arab League.
