China: We are ready to stand up to any provocation that destabilizes the Taiwan Strait

Beijing (ST): China has affirmed its military’s readiness to take all necessary measures to resolutely confront any provocation that undermines the country’s core interests and destabilizes the Taiwan Strait.

The “Democratic Progressive Party” in Taiwan had made statements linking the issue of Ukraine and Taiwan, while speculation about the “military threat” by some US politicians to China escalated.

“Taiwan is not Ukraine because the Taiwan issue is China’s internal affair and we do not accept any foreign interference in it,” said Wu Qian, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, as saying in response to the recent developments, stressing that no individual or force can stand in the way of restoring China’s unification.
