China: US has flagrantly looted Syria’s national resources

China has condemned the US occupation forces practices in Syria, including the looting of the Syrian people’s resources in broad daylight and the coercive measures imposed by Washington and its allies on the Syrians.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said in a press conference on Friday “unfortunately, the US government, rather than reflecting upon its war-related crimes and responsibilities, has flagrantly plundered Syria’s national resources, plunging the country into an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.”

“The Syrian people have been suffering from  the suffocating pirate-like behavior and economic blockade of the US,” he added.

Zhao Lijian clarified that today, more than a decade after the crisis in Syria broke out, there is no end in sight to US military and economic interference in Syria. Tens of thousands of civilians were killed between 2016 and 2019 in Syria due to US attacks under the pretext of fighting ISIS.

In 2017, the US troops launched what they called the most precise air campaign in history in Raqqa, killing 1,600 civilians, in addition, a US raid in Idlib in February 2022 killed at least 13 people, including six children and four women, the spokesman pointed out.
