China to Spare no Effort to Make Intra-Syrian Dialogue in Geneva a Success

GENEVA, (ST)-China, as a friend of Syria, will spare no effort to make the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva a success, the Chinese Envoy to the UN in Geneva Wu Hailong has stressed.

“We hope the all the parties taking part in the dialogue enjoy enough flexibility to achieve progress, which is exactly what the Syrian people want,” the Chinese envoy told reporters on Tuesday.

He said that the intra-Syrian dialogue will hopefully come up with good results.

On Tuesday, head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in Geneva Bashar al-Jaafari told journalists following the delegation’s meeting with the UN Chief’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura that the Syrian government delegation came to Geneva without preconditions and it won’t accept any preconditions by anyone.

“We are still at the stage of preparations for the indirect talks between our delegation and that of the opposition groups. We don’t know until this moment the delegation that will represent these groups,” he said.
